WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY COUNTRY?
My country is a blessed land.
Productive land as far as eye can see.
We could be the world’s breadbasket.

We are a hospitable and kind people.
All races can live in harmony here, as well as
religious beliefs and faith displays.

We can go to malls and churches without being
afraid that a bomb will blast and destroy our dreams.

But something has changed and is slowly taking over
the nation.
Safety against thefts and mugging is getting out of
control. Going to malls and churches is no longer so safe.

But it was not only safety that has gone away, morals and
ethics were lost in the past eight years.
I’m afraid we will lose more, much more.

Our current government, from a small political party called ‘’PT’’ –
Workers Party, has taken office and the country has suffered a
drawback.

Never before have we witnessed such corruption and filthiness
in our country. Even justice has abandoned us.
The judiciary has somehow sold itself to this ‘gang’ and all their
crimes remain unpunished or aren’t even taken into account.

No one is sentenced, no one returns anything to the union
coffers and every day more and more scandals emerge.
The worst thing is that these unashamed people,
represented by their highest leader, our ‘’president’’,
receive his total and broad support.

When asked about what is happening, his replay is
‘’I know nothing about it’’.

The connection with murderer dictators from other nations is
defiantly frightening. Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Evo Morales
and Ahmadinejad have become our president’s best friends,
covering in shame the still decent people in this country.

What is happening to the rest of the world?
How can they support quietly one of the most corrupt
presidents in the world?
How can this very president be called ‘’The man’’ by no one less
than Barack Obama? Could it be that Mr. Obama doesn’t
realize the reality of our nation?
Is the world blind or does’t want to see?

Now, reaching the expiration of his mandate, our president
desperately tries to leave as a substitute an ex-guerilla
that can be considered as to have been a real terrorist back
on her days.
She robbed banks, kidnapped and helped to detonate car bombs
which hurt no one else but innocent soldiers.

Is that what the world currently applauds? That is ‘’the man’’.
Only those who live in our country and daily read the newspaper
a little, can realize what is happening.
I do hope that things will change at the next election,
that these shameless people will not only lose, but
that one day they will be banned from my country.

But, if the worst happens and they win again, I ask the
world to pray for us, and not to judge the country as a whole.
Among us there are thousands of people who do not
support the one who is called ‘’The Man’’.

I pray to God that one day we can have back the morals and
ethics which have been stolen from us at the very moment the ‘’PT’’
took over, stolen together with the funding now spent to assist
countries such as Cuba, Bolivia and Venezuela, while the money for
dignified salaries and the recovery of our own country is not there,
being shamelessly misappropriated into ‘big monthly payments’
and also found in underwear, facts which ‘’the man’’ never
knows nothing about.

I hope the world’s greatest leaders look after us and start
remembering that one day, not so long ago, another
humble worker also arose from a small Workers Party and
almost destroyed the world.

When morals and ethics are lost, shame is equally lost and
when the government loses shame, people lose respect.
